Deconstructing the Landscape
(Paper Palace, Slide Room Gallery 2007)

This installation is made from landscape photographs taken in various places around Victoria and the Gulf Islands. Photographs have been cut into spirals (to create the longest long possible from one photograph) and then they are attached to each other by small gold safety pins. They form an extended line which is then rolled into giant balls and then brought to the installation site in that formation. I think of the work as having the gesture of an abstract expressionist painting.
